Liam is a glow worm and he is adorable.

It's been awhile

Liam is now almost 9 months old. He's pulling himself up to stand and crawls everywhere. Ryan just had his 31st birthday and is working on his dissertation and looking for jobs. Kristen is still plugging away at the Revisor's Office. I'm going to get Liam a Halloween costume for some fall pictures. Any suggestions?

Union Station and Clinton Lake

Liam is 5 months now! Pretty exciting stuff. We've been keeping busy doing various activities. I signed Liam and myself up for a swimming class called "Aqua Mom". He looks at me like I'm nuts the entire time we're in the pool, but it's a fun activity and a good work out. The past couple of weekends we've tried to get out an explore the nearby areas. We've gone to a lake near our house called Clinton Lake and had a picnic and went on a hike, and then last weekend we went to Kansas City where we: 1) went to a farmer's market, 2) Went to Union Station, and 3) did some shopping at an outdoor shopping mall called The Legends.

Visit from Manga

My mom came into town to help me with Liam while Ryan went to North Carolina for a conference. She stayed a week and we had the most wonderful time.
We:
1) Had a wonderful Mother's Day brunch on the Plaza
2) Watched Star Trek--including Liam (I think he's a future Trekkie)
3) Toured the Kansas Statehouse
4) Went to the Topeka Rainforest Zoo
5) Did some shopping in downtown Lawrence (where Manga was caught in a thunderstorm)
6) Got somewhat lost in Kansas City, Missouri.

I'm so glad that Manga came out. Liam sure loves her and can't wait to see her again!

And now, 4 months

Liam turned 4 months old on 5/3/09. He's current interests are:
1) Grabbing his feet and putting his toes in his mouth
2) Eating rice cereal with a spoon
3) Rolling from side to side on his back and from his tummy to his back
4) Babbling to animals and pretty girls
5) Smiling and occasionally laughing
6) Grabbing onto hair and yanking out multiple strands.

Happy Easter!

This year we didn't do our usual Easter celebration (a.k.a Ryan makes a ham and cheesy potatoes). Instead we decided to go for the brunch at a historic hotel in town called the Eldridge. We went there for Thanksgiving and it was so delish that we decided to do it again for Easter. So we dressed Liam in his super cute Easter outfit and out we went. Of course, our reservation was for 2 p.m., right during his naptime, so he was a total crankster--but the food was so good that it was worth it. Here are a few pictures to show you how we celebrated the day. Hope you all had a wonderful day too!

Some pictures when my girlfriends were in town...

These are my best buds from law school, Bryn and Robin. Bryn lives in Texas now but she came out to stay with me and help with Liam. She was awesome--she cooked and cleaned and entertained...I wish she'd give up being a lawyer and come and be my nanny--but so far, she's rejected that offer. And of course, Liam did his best to flirt with the ladies (and yes, flirting = spitting up). Love you guys!

Finally...

We had the baby.
Liam Clarke Kellems was born on January 3, 2009 at 9:39 in the morning.
He weighed 7 lbs 11 oz.
Sorry for the delay in pictures, but I've been a little busy.
He is now a month old--still not sleeping through the night, but a healthy eater and an adorable guy.
